I don’t think many use them on the L7s as there is more options. But its a good option for older mires and moves.

Due to the Hyundai Excel series there evolved a good choice of rear dampers. On an L200 an Excel shock also has less drop which (in my opinion and experience) desirable. There is a reinforcing bracket near the top eye that needs tapping over otherwise I’ve found an Excel Koni to be bolt in.

I tested the hyundai shocks on a copen as well to see how they feel in comparison to the copen stock shock’s. What I found was the hyudai shocks were much stiffer and for a track application would be great as they were a bit to harsh. The copen shocks were not far off the hyundai ones but gave a bit more comfort for normal road use. So we stayed with the copen shocks. (Copen had low d sport springs in it)

Yeah it seems rears are easy to get for L7 but only a few brands will do a set of matching performance for them
I’m not touching Malaysia stuff again
Koni won’t fit within price reason
So I’m ordering Japanese custom valved stuff for mine at the moment
Holding breath on price
